YOUR DOCUMENT, WITH CONTEXT

A better view of the work.

I started with a question and developed my argument as I wrote.

This excerpt came from a research page I copied. This passage was pasted from an observed ChatGPT source.

HOW IT WORKS

Write normally.
Review the process.

1

Open your document

With the desktop app running, open Word, Google Docs, or another supported editor. True Author detects the document.

2

Choose Start tracking

Accept the small desktop prompt, then write normally. Supported edits and matched paste sources build your audit.

3

Open the audit

Review captured text, source highlights, paste history, and gaps. Optional desktop sync shares audit metadata.

You stay in control: choose Not now to dismiss a document for this session. Approved projects resume their existing audit. Using only Chrome? Enable recording in the extension to capture supported browser documents.

WHY IT HELPS

Evidence from the work itself.

Review observed activity instead of guessing from the finished document.

Trace contributions

See the sources behind matched pasted passages, including observed AI sources.

Keep the context

Inspect edits and original pasted text, even when those passages are later removed.

See the limits

Unobserved changes and recording gaps remain visible. The report does not claim to prove authorship.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Your text stays on your device.

Review locally without an account. If you link the desktop, cloud sync sends minimized audit metadata, not your manuscript. Chrome audits stay in your browser profile; desktop recovery uses Windows protection.
